Prof
Boomer, University of Rochester, has conducted extensive research on stroke
velocity and stroke techniques. He is recognised as a world authority on this
subject.
I have used Prof Boomer’s ideas, terminology and explanations extensively and they provide the body of the articles on stroke, which I have written. Experience and observation of the techniques recommended by Boomer have convinced me that he is right.
There are a few instances where we are not quite in agreement or I have added movements, but I acknowledge with pleasure that my articles are based entirely Boomers work.
I notice that Richard Quick and Skip Kenny and many US coaches consult with Bill Boomer; Penny Heyns, at her magnificent best, swims the stroke I learned from him.
