GUIDE
LINES
The
normal progression of young swimmers should be: -
-
As
you progress and your times are fast enough to qualify for Level 1,
you must then make application to join KwaZulu-Natal Aquatics
Association through your club. This
will enable you to swim in the Level 1 Swim Meets and in our
Development Provincial Championships. After
you are registered, you are eligible to take part in our National Age
Group Swim Meets. As a member
of KwaZulu-Natal Aquatics you automatically register with Swimming
South Africa. You are now
eligible for selection to the Provincial team depending on the various
selection criteria. Should
you be successful to be chosen to represent our Province, you may swim
at the South African Level 1 Championships or at the South African
Level 2 Championships. You may only
participate in one of these two events.
-
Once you have bettered a Level 1 ceiling time, you must
up-grade your status with KZNA to that of a Level 2/3 swimmer for
KZNA. This means that you
may compete at our Level 2/3 swim meets and our Level 2/3 Provincial
Championships. Depending
on your times, you may qualify to compete at the South African Level 2
Championships or
Junior Nationals. If your times are fast enough, you could be selected to
represent KwaZulu-Natal at the S A Senior National Championships.
