What do you need to provide?

A well-run swim meet depends on the type of people working at the meet. While we can provide solid background and experience at the meet operations level, in most cases we can only provide a single person to do so. Including and in addition to meet personnel, you will need to provide:

• Properly-licensed copy of Hy-Tek's Meet Manager software
• Fully-functional electronic timing system, touchpad's and cabling (we have the most experience with Colorado Time Systems series 5000 systems)
• Pool-side Telkom connection for real-time online coverage (online results requires telephone line connection or faster.)
• Appropriate meet personnel (timing system operator (ETD operator, announcer, control office staff, etc.)
• Pool-side electrical connection (we will bring meet management computers, printers, etc.)

How much does this all cost?

Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to provide a price list for swim meet management services. Every meet is different, and every meet has a different level of required services, and a different time commitment. Smaller single-day meets may cost a few hundred rands while multi-day meets and national-level meets may cost thousands of rands for appropriate meet management services. In addition, if travel and overnight accommodation is required, this will be factored into the cost. Meet Management software training?

In association with meet management services, we also offer services such as meet management software training. These services may be provided as part of a swim meet function or separately. Note that while it is possible to provide limited training on timing system and meet management software while a meet is in progress, depending on the size and level of the meet, it may be more advisable to run a separate training session.

D & L Swim Meet Management Services is owned and operated by Hennie Bezuidenhout and he has been running swim meets of all sizes since 1989. Hennie has been involved with swim meets of all sizes in South Africa including the SA International Short Course Champs held in Durban in 2002. When not running swim meets, he is running the Official KwaZulu-Natal Swimming Web Site (www.swimmersden.com). Hennie works as a Technical Planner within Transnet. In addition to the KwaZulu-Natal web site he maintains various other web sites which include 2 swimming sites. He also serves on the KwaZulu-Natal Swim board in the capacity as Provincial Records Officer as well as being a member of the KwaZulu-Natal Selection Committee.
